SSAA Mackay held the two monthly Service Rifle shoots on Sunday, 12th August in fine and cool conditions with 11 Adult and 4 junior shooters in attendance. 

For the .22 Trainer and Cadet Martini shoot,

 1st Doug Purkis with 147.14,

 2nd Jim Fredricksen 141.11 

and 3rd Alan Strudwick 140.10.

 Juniors - 1st Jessica Purkis 125.5, 

2nd Linden Vince 75,

 3rd Drew Wooding  59.1. 

Service Rifle Core event -

 1st Alan Strudwick with  137.6, 

2nd Doug Purkis with 136.12 

and 3rd Fred Wright 131.6.

  S.S.A.A. Mackay Branch Inc. held Service Rifle matches on Sunday 15-4-07 in wet and windy conditions.

9 shooters attended this competition.

     In the .22 trainer & Martini Cadet shoot, 1st. place went to Doug Purkis with a score of 140.12. 2nd. place went

to Fred Wright with 133.4, and 3rd. went to Chris Reed with 130.1.

     In the Service Rifle core event,Chris Reed claimed 1st. with a score of 142.12. 2nd. place went to Allan Strudwick

 with 139.12,and a close 3rd. went to Doug Purkis with 139.11.

   S.S.A.A. Mackay Branch Inc. held the first Service Rifle matches for 2007 on Sunday 11-2-07 in very

hot conditions.16 shooters participated in these matches, including 4 Juniors.

     In the .22 Trainer and Martini Cadet event, Doug Purkis claimed 1st. place with a score of 137.11.

2nd. place went to Andrew Crawford with a score of 134.5,and Fred Wright was 3rd. with a score of 131.5.

     In the Service Rifle Core event, Allan Strudwick won the day with a score of 141.12. 2nd. place went to

Doug Purkis with a score of 134.11,and senior shooter Chris Henderson claimed 3rd. place with a score of

124.4.  The February and March 2007 matches are eligible for this year's Qld. State Postal competition.

12-11-06 in fine conditions.

     15 competitors participated on this day,including 4 Junior and 3 new shooters.

     In the .22 Trainer and Martini Cadet rifle match,1st. place was claimed by Jim Fredericksen with

a score of 137.6.  in 2nd. position was Fred Wright with a score of 135.8 , and a senior shooter by

the name of Chris Henderson claimed 3rd. place with a score of 132.7.

     In the Service rifle Core Event, Chris Reed won with a score of 143.10.    2nd. place was claimed

by Doug Purkis with a score of 139.7,and once again Chris Henderson came 3rd.,this time with a score

of 135.6.

     In the .22 Trainer and Martini Cadet rifle match,Doug Purkis won the day with a score of 142.10.Second place went to Fred Wright with a score of 139.6,and Jim Fredericksen claimed third with a score of 129.5.

     In the Service Rifle core event,first place went to Doug Purkis again with a score of 138.11. 

Second place was claimed by Chris Henderson ( a senior shooter) with a score of 134.4. 

Peter Wright claimed third with a score of 131.9.

Very windy but fine conditions greeted the 7 competitors who attended.

     In the .22 Trainer and Martini Cadet match,Jim Fredericksen claimed 1st.place with a score of 142.10.

Second was claimed by Doug Purkis with a score of 135.10,and Fred Wright claimed 3rd. with a score of 131.2.

     In the Service Rifle Core event match,1st. place went to a senior shooter Chris Henderson with a score of

139.12. Doug Purkis claimed 2nd. place with a score of 129.8,and 3rd.place went to Errol Phillips with a score

of 123.6.

 11 Adults and 2 Junior competitors participated in fine but windy conditions.

1st. place went to Peter Wright with a score of 139.12.

A close 2nd.went to Jim Fredericksen with a score of 138.8,

and Doug Purkis claimed 3rd. place with a score of 132.12.

 In the Junior category, Jessica Purkis won the day with a score of 100.1, 

and Matthew Lake claimed 2nd. with a score of 70.

     In the Service Rifle-Core Event competition,

Doug Purkis won the day with a score of 144.9. 

Second place went to Errol Phillips with a score of 133.8,

and Fred Wright claimed third with a score of 127.6.

2nd.place went to Fred Wright with 139.5,and third was claimed by Lee Rollin with 135.8. In the

Junior category,1st. place went to Jessica Purkis with a score of 126.3,and 2nd. place went to

Jessica Reed with a score of 91.2.

     Service Rifle - Core Event:     1st. place (and the daily double) went to Doug Purkis with a score

of 139.9. A very close 2nd.went to Chris Reed with a score of 139.7,and only 1 point behind in 3rd.

place was Allan Strudwick with a score of 138.14 .
